Research Programs

Our research programs are revolutionizing the world's understanding of brain trauma. Learn how.

CAMH Brain Health Imaging Centre

We have assembled a research team at CAMH with exceptional expertise in molecular imaging of neurodegeneration and TBI.

Dr Neil Vasdev at the CAMH Brain Health Imaging Centre leads our collaborative efforts.

Together, we are working to develop tools to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) in life.

Canadian Concussion Centre

We have partnered with the brain bank at the Canadian Concussion Centre (CCC) to advance our understanding of CTE in Canadian servicemembers. The CCC joins the CLF Global Brain Bank alongside the UNITE Brain Bank in Boston, USA, the Australian Sports Brain Bank in Sydney, Australia, the Biobank for Aging Studies at the University of São Paulo in Brazil, the Neurological Foundation Human Brain Bank in Auckland, New Zealand, and the Concussion Legacy Project at Oxford University in the UK.

Dr. Carmela Tartaglia and Dr. Gabor Kovacs lead our collaborative efforts.

CLF Research Registry

Research participation is key to advancing our understanding of brain injuries so that we can prevent and treat the effects of brain trauma. Both brain bank and clinical research play critical roles in this process, which is why we have created the CLF Research Registry. The CLF Research Registry enables you to indicate your interest in research participation so that we can keep you informed of actively recruiting research studies as they arise.

The CLF Research Registry includes the Clinical Research Registry (CRR) and the Brain Donation Registry (BDR). You may sign up for one or both. All adults, with or without a history of sports participation or military service, are eligible to join the CLF Research Registry.
