Symposia Series

The Educational Symposia series was created to foster collaboration and knowledge translation within both the scientific and broader community. Since 2013, CLF Canada has been a partner in See the Line, an annual community concussion symposium at Western University, which has educated nearly 10,000 community members in London, Ontario to date.

Inspired by See the Line, CLF Canada has also co-hosted symposia with other research institutes, including the University of Ottawa Brain and Mind Research Institute (2017 & 2019), Toronto Metropolitan University, known as Ryerson University at the time of the event (2020), and Queen’s University (2020). CLF Canada’s symposia boast an average audience size of approximately 350 people.

In response to the pandemic, CLF Canada co-hosted a virtual Continuing Medical Education event for rural communities in Ontario’s Grey Bruce region (2020), for all 250 member physicians of Grey Bruce Health Services, representing approximately 60,000 patients from the Grey Bruce region. During this time, CLF Canada also collaborated with CLF to host the webinar, Managing Post-Concussion Syndrome in the Time of Coronavirus to arm those struggling with PCS with tools to manage their symptoms during the pandemic.

In September 2021, CLF Canada was invited by the Canadian Armed Forces to present to military personnel from 13 different countries as part of NATO Exercise Ardent Defender at CFB Borden regarding brain injuries.
